Johnny McKeever has been an agent since 1985. Initially working for himself (Johnny McKeever Bloodstock) and for the CBA before setting-up MSL in 2000.
He has been responsible for buying many top racehorses, which include ARCANO (Prix Morny, Gr.1 etc.), RED ROCKS (Breeders' Cup Turf, Gr.1 etc.), CROWDED HOUSE (Racing Post Trophy, Gr.1), DONNA BLINI (Cheveley Park, Gr.1 etc.), GREY SWALLOW (Irish Derby, Gr.1 etc.), MAGICAL ROMANCE (Cheveley Park, Gr.1 ), SAUMAREZ (Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, Gr.1), BAD AS I WANNA BE (Prix Morny, Gr.1), VINNIE ROE (Irish St. Leger, Gr.1, a record four times), CONTINENT (Prix de l'Abbaye, Gr.1etc.), HAWK WING (Eclipse Stakes, Gr.1 etc.), CASTLEDALE (Santa Anita Derby, Gr.1 etc.), METEOR STORM (Manhattan Handicap, Gr.1 etc.) and HELMSMAN (Strub Stakes, Gr.1).
Johnny also specialises in Breeding Stock - as well as selling Epsom Derby winner ERHAAB to Japan as a stallion, he represents major breeders such as the Irish National Stud and Kilcarn Stud in their quest to obtain top class broodmares. MAGICAL ROMANCE also held the World Record for a broodmare sold at public auction of 4.6m Gns. (£4.83m).
Oliver Gaisford-St. Lawrence has been an agent since 1991, firstly with the BBA and then the CBA prior to setting-up MSL.
Oliver's principle purchases include CARRY ON KATIE (Cheveley Park Stakes, Gr.1 etc.), DARSALAM (Reinland-Pokal, Gr.1 etc.), MONSIEUR BOND (Duke Of York Stakes, Gr.2 etc.) and MUHANNAK (Breeders' Cup Marathon, etc.). Many of the purchases Oliver makes on behalf of clients are for export to the Far East, Middle East, Australasia and Middle Europe.
Oliver also acts for many breeders and has purchased HALLAND PARK LASS dam of dual Gr.1 two year old DUTCH ART, SABRIA dam of Gr.1 winner LANDSEER, BID DANCER dam of dual Gr.1 winner JANET, KITE MARK dam of Gr.3 winner & Gr.1 placed KITE WOOD and MY LASS dam of triple Gr.3 winner MAC LOVE.
Oliver is a Council member of the Federation of Bloodstock Agents (GB).
Oliver is also Manager of Aislabie Stud just outside Newmarket at Stetchworth on behalf of Fawzi Nass from Bahrain.
Philip Johnston has over 30 years experience of racing in the Far East especially in Singapore and Hong Kong. He is responsible for buying RED PEPPER (Champions' Mile, Gr.1), BULLISH LUCK (Yasuda Kinen Gr.1, Champions Mile Gr.1 & Hong Kong Gold Cup Gr.1) and LUCKY SIX (Chairman's Trophy, Gr.3). Philip keeps in close contact with many owners and trainers throughout the whole Asian region and has built up a strong list of clients, who use him to source suitable racing prospects for the region.
Susie McKeever, as well as being married to Johnny, has been working alongside him in the bloodstock industry for the last 12 years. Susie is part of the buying team at the sales and has bought many horses herself for both domestic and international clients, particularly in USA. Her leading broodmare purchase is SPECIFICALLY (dam of Classic winner Speciosa) who was bought for €50,000 (£37,000) and was resold for 1.85m Gns. (£1.94m). She has been involved in the purchase of much of the breeding stock for both Kilcarn Stud and the Irish National Stud. As well as being a Director and Company Secretary, she works part-time during off-peak periods.
Henrietta Michael is heading up our nominations department.
Henri has had 19 years experience in the Bloodstock industry. She has experienced many disciplines in the business having worked with Charlie Gordon Watson and the Darley stallions department.
Most recently Henri has been an Independent Bloodstock Advisor. She has worked with a select group of clients providing them with mating plans, bloodstock evaluation and portfolio management. Henri has also arranged nominations and represented clients both at public auction and in private sales.

Nicki Rutter, who handles the accounts side of MSL, has previously worked for the Animal Health Trust, Greenwood Ellis Vets and Rossdale Vets - giving her hands on horse experience in addition to her office skills. She has been with us since the set-up of the company.
Christine Phipps looks after the office management and secretarial side of the business. She has worked for many years inside racing including for Tattersalls.
